From tadpole to frog

The children have been busy learning about the lifecycle of a frog.

Our children have been very creative.

They have watched videos of a tadpole's growth from frogspawn to an adult frog.

Some children were lucky enough to find some tadpoles growing in the pond.

Well done to all those children who completed their work so well.

Rhyme Time

This week we have been reading the book 'Rumble in the Jungle'.
We have loved reading your writing about your favourite wild animals.

We noticed that Rumble in the Jungle is a 'rhyming' book.
Thank you to all of the children who have been learning about words that rhyme.

Here are some photos of some of the rhyming work.

You are all doing an amazing job!

Me and my shadow

This week we have been learning how light can create shadows.

We have found that light can come from different sources,
including the sun, torches, lamps and candles.

Luckily, the sun shone this week and we were able to go outside and create shadows.

We found that as the sun's position in the sky changed, so did our shadow.

We used light to create shadows of our toys.
This was a great opportunity to draw around the shadow to create a picture.

We also used the sunlight and our hands to create shadow puppets.

Thank you to all of the children who sent these amazing shadow photos.

Halving at home

This week, we have been learning how to halve amounts and shapes.
We read a story about two bears who had to share their sweets evenly, so that they both had half.

Can you see what else we have been halving this week?
